Badbunny’s floating island of trash performance:

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — While the Seattle Seahawks were busy securing a dominant 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots, the real “loss” on Sunday happened during the fifteen minutes when the lights went down and the noise went up.

In what was supposed to be a celebration of the American spirit, the NFL and Apple Music instead served up a “party” that many felt was less about unity and more about an agenda. Headliner Bad Bunny—real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio—made history as the first solo Latino artist to lead the show, but for millions of Americans watching at home, the performance left them reaching for the remote.

“One of the Worst, EVER”

President Trump didn’t mince words on Truth Social, labeling the spectacle “absolutely terrible” and an “affront to the Greatness of America.” And honestly? It’s hard to disagree when you’re watching a performance where, as the President noted, “nobody understands a word this guy is saying.”

In a country where we speak English, the decision to host a halftime show almost entirely in Spanish felt less like “inclusion” and more like an intentional exclusion of the vast majority of the viewing audience. We’re used to greatness from the likes of Prince or Bruce Springsteen; instead, we got a 14-minute commercial for a tropical island that apparently doesn’t even want our ICE agents at its concerts.

A “God Bless America” Rebrand?

The most egregious moment came toward the end of the set. Bad Bunny shouted “God bless America,” but he wasn’t talking about the land of the free and the home of the brave. As the stage filled with flags from Chile to Canada, it became clear: this was a calculated attempt to “redefine” what America means.

Spiking a football that read “Together, We Are America” while listing every nation in the Western Hemisphere isn’t a message of unity—it’s a passive-aggressive swipe at the United States. It’s the kind of “continental identity” rhetoric we usually hear from the radical left, not during the most-watched sporting event on the planet.

The All-American Alternative

While Bad Bunny was busy climbing electric poles and hosting weddings on stage, millions of patriotic Americans were tuning into Turning Point USA’s “All-American Halftime Show.” Headlined by Kid Rock, that show actually celebrated the standards of success and excellence that made this country great in the first place.

If the NFL wants to keep its audience, it might want to remember who actually buys the tickets and the jerseys. We don’t need a “History of Puerto Rico” lecture between quarters; we need a halftime show that actually likes the country it’s performing in.

Next year, let’s leave the “barrio” in the music videos and bring back some good old-fashioned American rock and roll.
